Tesla, Inc. has launched its latest project that has nothing to do with the design of automobiles, but with offering an experience for those Tesla users. This time, Elon Musk has opted for the restoration, giving it a totally futuristic touch. This is the Tesla Diner, a themed restaurant located in the heart of Hollywood, on the iconic Santa Monica Boulevard in Los Angeles, California. This is not just any fast food restaurant, but a drive-in theater! An immersive experience with which Musk intends to merge technological innovation with a design set in the 50s.

The main feature of this new restaurant model is the presence of Optimus, Tesla’s robot, which will be in charge of attending to the needs of customers and delivering the food. Users will be able to watch a movie on the screen of their Tesla car, and also place food orders through the system connected to the restaurant. The company is already working on the ‘CyberCanopy’ project in Roswell, New Mexico. Do you think this idea will be successful and can be seen in more regions of the country?

Tesla Inc.

Founded in 2003 and with Elon Musk in charge since 2008, Tesla, Inc., is one of the most well-known companies worldwide. Originally from the USA, it is based in Austin, Texas. Its function is focused on designing, manufacturing and selling electric cars, components for the propulsion of electric vehicles, solar roofs, photovoltaic solar installations and household bacteria. It is one of the American companies most committed to the use of renewable energies, especially electric motor cars.

We are used to Tesla ads being related to the launch or design of vehicles, humanoid robots and even space missions. However, the latest novelty of the company has left users with their mouth open. Its last bet was for the catering sector. A Tesla restaurant? Yes, that’s right.

Tesla Diner

As it could not be otherwise coming from Tesla and Elon Musk, this is not a conventional restaurant. Located in Hollywood, on Santa Monica Boulevard in Los Angeles, California, the Tesla Diner is a themed restaurant that aims to offer its customers an immersive experience. The design of the establishment is set in the 50s, merged with the latest technological innovation.

It is a space where customers can enjoy a movie in the pure drive-in theatre style, while a humanoid robot serves food. This sounds crazy, right? This robot has its own name, “Optimus”, and will be in charge of serving food to customers. Already at the opening could be dressed as a fast food waiter, creating an image that will be repeated in the different establishments that open.

How does it work?

The main goal of Tesla is to offer an experience more than selling a product itself. That’s why they wanted the user experience to be unbeatable. Owners of Tesla vehicles can come to these establishments with their cars. From your vehicle screen, you can connect to the restaurant and order food and drink without having to get off. The menu includes options such as burgers, chips, smoothies or the star dish of opening day: fried chicken sandwich with waffles.

Users don’t have to worry about whether the movie will look good or need to turn down the volume. Both the audio of the movies and the movie itself are played from the vehicle screen, with the ability to adjust preferences from the vehicle sound system.

The least innovative Tesla project?

Absolutely not. Tesla does not leave behind innovation in any of its projects. Despite placing a lot of emphasis on the retro design of the 50s, it does not fail to introduce futuristic aspects. In fact, the parking area of the cars is equipped on 80 superchargers, which guarantees simultaneous attention to many vehicles. This is not the only Tesla facility we will see. The brand already has new projects like CyberCanopy in Roswell, New Mexico. Would you like to have such an establishment in your region?

One of the most innovative vehicle designs arrives in 2026 and is not Tesla´s!
