After one of their latest collaborations with the brand Crocs, Krispy Kreme has decided to create a collection that allows those who couldn’t go on vacation this summer to feel like they are in Italy with every bite. This is their new launch, Passport to Italy, through which we can enjoy 3 new and delicious donuts inspired by the most classic and traditional flavors of Italy: cannoli, tiramisu, and lemon.

According to Alison Holder, the brand and product director of Krispy Kreme, “there’s a taste of Italy’s sweetest desserts in every bite of our Passport to Italy donuts, from tiramisu to cannoli and lemon… dipped, sprinkled, and drizzled to perfection.” This product is available for a limited time, so if you want to enjoy it, whether in-store, for takeout, or delivered to your home, don’t hesitate to do so!

Krispy Kream

Founded in 1937 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, USA, Vernon Rudolph brought Krispy Kreme to life. He started selling donuts to grocery stores with a secret recipe he bought, and continued to grow into what it is today. It is one of the largest American chains of donuts and coffee shops. It is characterized by specializing in donuts of all colors and imaginable flavors. Currently, its headquarters is located in Charlotte, North Carolina, and it has over 12,872 points of sale worldwide. In addition to in-store service, it also offers takeout and home delivery, with orders through its app.

Krispy Kream Collections

One of the attractions of Krispy Kreme is the limited edition collections they release. While they have a range of products that make up the basics on their shelves, they frequently surprise consumers by launching collections inspired by specific themes. We have been able to see and try the Movie Snacks Doughnuts collection, based on movie snacks, the Manicho Party, in collaboration with the Manicho brand, which offered donuts like Manicho Star, Manicho White, Manicho Bomba, and Locura Caramel, all with touches of chocolate and Manicho. Another of the most striking collaborations was with the shoe brand Crocs, where both brands drew inspiration from each other to release a collection of shoes and donuts based on that fusion.

Passport to Italy

Passport to Italy is the name of the latest collection launched by Krispy Kreme. It is a reinvention that advocates for the flavors of the most traditional desserts from Italy, without losing the essence of their donuts. It features three specific creations for this collection:

  • Donut inspired by cannoli. Just describing it makes your mouth water. It is an unglazed donut, covered in chocolate and with a crunchy cookie in the middle. On top, a spoonful of cannoli-flavored buttercream that recalls the exact taste of this dessert.
  • Lemon Delight Donut. Topped with candied lemon and glazed with spicy lemon flavor, this donut is filled with lemon-flavored Kreme.
  • Tiramisu-inspired donut. Filled with tiramisu-flavored Kreme, topped with sweet buttercream and dusted with cocoa, this donut takes you straight back to the moment when tiramisu melts in your mouth.

Travel without passport

Coinciding with summer, a time when the luckiest can take vacations and make those long-awaited trips, Krispy Kreme bets on a series of traditional flavors, but none the less delicious for it. With this launch, it intends for tasting this creation to be a little journey through the palate, straight to Italy.

Alison Hoder, the brand and product director, explained, ‘there is a flavor of Italy’s sweetest desserts in every bite of our Pasaporte a Italia donuts, from tiramisu to cannoli and lemon… dipped, sprinkled, and drizzled to perfection.’ Adding, ‘This summer, Krispy Kreme transports you to the sweet Italian life, no passport needed,’ which, given the current situation for entering and exiting the United States, is appreciated. If you want to try this new collection, you just need to go to one of their stores, order for pickup, or request home delivery!
