Mid America Pet Food has faced a class-action lawsuit that has cost a total of $5.5 million in settlements. The lawsuit accuses the brand of selling pet food bags contaminated with Salmonella bacteria, which the company never admitted. The settlement reached will benefit only consumers who purchased one or more of the brand’s pet food products, and pet owners whose animals became ill or, in the worst cases, died. Many brands are included in the settlement, and one of them is The Member’s Mark, which is sold at Sam’s Club.

Some cat food brands are also included, such as Victor Super Premium Cat Food, Wayne Feeds Gold Cat Food, and Wayne Feeds Cat Food. The amounts of compensation vary depending on whether the affected person can provide valid documentation of injuries and purchase receipts of these products. The amounts can range from $100,000, $100, or $40.Affected individuals must submit the claim form through midamericapetfoodsettlement.com by February 5, 2026.

Mid American Pet Food class action lawsuit

Nothing more and nothing less than $5.5 million has Mid American Pet Food agreed to pay to consumers who have filed a class-action lawsuit against the company. This lawsuit accuses the company of selling products contaminated with Salmonella bacteria, which can cause serious illness and even death in animals that consume them. Although it does not admit to any wrongdoing at any point, Mid American Pet Food has agreed to reach this settlement to compensate affected buyers.

The plaintiffs claim that the company was aware of this contamination but did not inform consumers. There are several brands included in this settlement, such as Member’s Mark, which is sold at Sam’s Club. The products of this brand included in the contaminated batches include the Beef & Brown Rice Recipe, Dog Food (product code: 193968343347) and the Salmon & Sweet Potato Recipe, Dog Food (product code: 193968343354). More detailed information is provided, specifying that it is the product of 30-pound bags with an expiration date of October 31, 2024.
