One of the biggest headaches when we’re about to go out is realizing that the phone isn’t charged. Hasn’t it happened to you that you put it on charge at night, but the next morning you realize it wasn’t properly plugged in and you only have 2% battery? Well, the Spanish technology company Yup Charge has the solution. Although many devices come with fast chargers, the truth is that this trick will give you a bit more time.

It consists of charging the phone with airplane mode activated, preventing features like WiFi, Bluetooth, or GPS from consuming battery while it charges. Additionally, it is also important to keep battery percentages between 20% and 80%, and preferably use original chargers, which helps extend the battery’s lifespan.

Out of battery

It has happened to all of us at some point that just as we are about to leave, we realize that our phone’s battery is critically low, and we don’t have much time to charge it. In this situation, fast chargers are useful, but there is another trick that can save you time and make your phone’s battery charge even faster. According to the Spanish technology company Yup Charge, the trick is to charge the phone by activating airplane mode.

What difference does it make? Does it really charge faster? Yes, because when this feature is activated, functions like WiFi, Bluetooth, or GPS, which constantly consume battery, are disabled, allowing the phone to regain battery more quickly. The fact that these functions are not active helps reduce the phone’s energy consumption, focusing solely on the charging process. According to this company, activating airplane mode during charging can reduce the time needed to reach 100% battery by up to 25%.

Tips for taking care of your battery’s health

It is important to optimize phone charging, as well as take care of the battery’s health. Using this airplane mode trick is not the only way to achieve this; there are many other recommendations you can consider implementing if your goal is to preserve your phone’s battery and optimize charging as much as possible.

Firstly, one of the most repeated recommendations by experts is to use original chargers and cables. This is important because using them ensures that the power supplied is appropriate for the device model. Using incompatible accessories or those that provide a different current can affect performance or even end up destroying the battery.

Another important aspect is the percentage at which we usually keep our phone charged. We might think that it’s better to charge it to full and let it discharge completely as well, to avoid subjecting the phone to so many charging cycles. However, experts recommend keeping the charge between 20% and 80%, as otherwise we could be damaging the battery’s capacity in the long term. It is also important to keep in mind that if we use the device intensively while it is charging, we will cause the battery temperature to rise, slowing down the charging process and directly affecting battery performance.

Finally, it is recommended not to expose phones to high temperatures or direct sunlight, as the internal components can be seriously damaged. Following these recommendations will help ensure a longer and better life for your device’s battery.
